The Lebensmittelversuchsanstalt offers services in the areas of research and development, consulting, training and technology transfer.

In the Food Safety Expert training, you will acquire the ability to assess and evaluate different types of food with regard to their microbiological and chemical hazards. The implementation of food safety standard requirements in your company is made easier by interpreting the standard requirements in an understandable way. The knowledge transfer takes place not only through practical and entertaining lectures, but also through numerous interactive workshops in which what has been learned can be applied directly.

Are you looking to further your expertise in the field of food safety and become a designated officer in your company? You can acquire the necessary expertise in the “Qualification as a Food Safety Manager” course. Successful completion entitles you to take a certificate examination – developed by the Lebensmittelversuchsanstalt and TÜV Austria.

TechNet sees itself as a central hub and technology transfer interface between science and industry in Austria. It works closely with public and private institutions in the food sector. Vibrant networking makes it possible to find suitable and competent partners for every issue.

This is precisely why they need applied research and/or technological developments that are tailored to their structures and needs.

The Lebensmittelversuchsanstalt, which operates as an independent association, represents the interests of producers and distributors at many levels. For example, on the Austrian Codex Commission, its sub-commissions, the FAO/WHO Codex Alimentarius Commission, EHEDG Austria and the FDE Science Expert Group. On all these bodies, LVA contributes expert knowledge and promotes industry interests on the basis of scientific objectivity.

Close cooperation also exists with Food Industry Association Austria FIAA. Working with ministries and public authorities, the Lebensmittelversuchsanstalt strives to develop common positions and build consensus.

As a member of the Research Expert Group of FoodDrinkEurope LVA contributes the positions of the Austrian food industry for the shaping of the European Commission’s Framework Programmes for Research.
